[attr="class","puppy"] [attr="class","puppy2"] [attr="class","puppy3"]history [attr="class","puppy4"]- although mew may seem elusive, she fails to remove all traces of her existence. her time in kanto leaves mild traces of her dna which is sought after by various researchers. funded by the head of team rocket, they amass a large scale study over the origin pokemon. - with the core component for their experiment now in their grasp, they draft a plan to manipulate the very essence of life. the initial plan is to make several clones of various pokemon in an attempt to understand how to artificially create life. dr. fuji, the head scientist, has plans to make a clone of his deceased daughter to serve as a host for her still preserved psyche. - the only experiment to survive is the one closest to being a carbon copy of mew itself. the only difference is the clone, called mewtwo, has been genetically modified to be stronger. theoritically, mewtwo will have more potential thanks to its larger body, stronger physical cabilities, and a impossibly broad mental pool to draw upon his psychic powers. - it only takes one year for the pokemon to mature into adulthood. upon gaining consciousness, mewtwo breaks free from the confines of its tes tube. the team behind creating mewtwo breaks into applause at the fruition of their extensive testing before trying to communicate with it. effortlessly, mewtwo responds, question his existence and purpose. unhappy with their response, mewtwo mindlessly slaughters everyone in the vicinity in an outburst of rage, blowing up the entire pokemon mansion along side them. - giovanni, the current head of team rocket, arrives shortly after. through extensive lies, he manages to convince the powerful pokemon that it does exist for a higher purpose. in order to achieve said purpose, mewtwo must learn to control his vast psychic powers. begrudgingly, mewtwo accepts the offer, becoming team rocket's secret weapon. - their relationship is shortly lived. after a few months of serving as giovanni's ace in the hole, the pokemon has grown to show an adept mastery of his psychic powers. after betraying the team rocket head, mewtwo flees to cerulean cave to test its mettle against the strongest pokemon of the region. - mewtwo defeats every poekmon that inhabits the cold, damp cavern. rumor soon spreads that an impossibly strong pokemon lives deep within. many trainers come to try their luck but all fall before the might of mewtwo. it isn't until one succumbs to the cave itself in an attempt to look for one of the previous challengers does mewtwo leave the cavern. - mewtwo wanders for the longest time, bored and unsure of his life. - eventually, word gets out among legendary pokemon that their creator has been captured. being man made, mewtwo feels no obligation to help out. if anything, mewtwo is more interested in mew, the very pokemon he's based upon. if there is anyone who can tell him his purpose in life, it's her. - in an attempt to get closer to his other half, mewtwo sets out to challenge both arceus and the trainer who controls it. mewtwo does its part in freeing arceus, serving as their primary battler and outshining its "bretheren" despite being the youngest of them. - however, many of the other legendaries are less than impressed by mewtwo's performance and more horrified by its methods. all opposition is met with a swift, brutal death. humans and pokemon are nothing more than meatbags to the merciless psychic. having one too many of them being blown up from the inside prove too gruesome for the others to digest. so, mewtwo opts for a "humane" solution and mentally lobotomizes his opponents. still, the others are sickened by his apparently mercilessness. - once arceus is free, mewtwo becomes nothing more than a fleeting after thought. very few legendaries dare to mention the outcast psychic, those that still do only do so out of disguist, fear, or out of a sense of superiority due to their natural origin. - mewtwo doesn't care. he's more interested with the sense of purpose, of living, he experienced during their attempt to freeing arceus. the human lifestyle is extremely interesting and mewtwo can't help but feel drawn to it. fittingly enough, he takes the body of giovanni's blood kin as his host. - mewtwo is finally content with his purpose in life. if mew is the essence of life then mewtwo is the essence of living. as a creation of man, mewtwo doesn't shy away from man's deadliest sins. as a human, mewtwo is the personification of vice. nothing is off limits. mewtwo aims to live, to take as he pleases whenever he pleases. if the world is to treat him as if he is some villian then he'll play the part and take from the world all that he can.
