the plot
It has been three years since the war between the Besser and Minder parties came to a smoldering halt in wake of the crimes of each groups' leaders. Three years since the two political parties disbanded and complete control over the region fell back onto the shoulders of the lax Pokemon League. Three years since Arceus was returned to the legendary Pokemon and the aforementioned deities returned to their allusiveness once more. Three years since the third peacetime in Lyeant's short history ensued; a peacetime that has failed to stop since. However, while there is not the threat of region-wide genocide breathing down their necks as there has been in the past, not all are completely pleased with the state of the region.
Gijinkas. A word known by few and it's meaning known by fewer in years passed. Gijinkas. Mother Nature's Devil spawn, a strange creature somewhere between human and Pokemon. Outside of most of the world's knowledge and hiding right under the noses of society, this strange species has been avoiding the spotlight for as long as humans have walked the Pokéarth. And, as was the thought shared by nearly every living gijinka, it would remain that way for generations upon generations to come.
This was not the case.
Perhaps it was because someone found a gijinka. Perhaps it was an idea, quickly conceived, quickly discarded, but always scratching at the back of the subconscious. Perhaps it was the goal of a mad man. Whatever led to the creation of PH Genetics was between its co-creators, Ulixies Hurshman and Platinum Berlitz. However, what was certain was the fact that the experiments they were doing were, at least one some level, wrong. Having been able to create a serum that had the ability to replace human base pairs in the DNA with base pairs of the Pokemon DNA to create part human, part Pokemon like the unknown gijinkas living amongst society, the two hoped to revolutionize life as we know it and create a super race where humans could be even closer to Pokemon than ever. Gijinkas – whether they be wild born or scientifically engineered – became known to the public. Even when PH Genetics nearly went bankrupt as a result of Ulixies' mad ambition to enslave a part human, part Pokemon world, the damage was done, and there was no hiding the strange hybrids now.
But the human race will always do what the human race does. View itself superior. Shun the things that are different. Despite the fact that hybrids with the ability to spew flames from the back of their throats or summon a glittering flash of light that could damage anything around them would naturally be viewed as the alpha species, their lack of numbers and the fact that they were not human did them in when it all came down to it. They were oppressed. They were segregated from their human brothers. They were beaten bruised and bullied because their genome could not match that of a humans as closely as it would have had they not have a Pikachu's ears and tail. And, for three whole years, they stood down and let this happen.
They weren't going to do it forever, though.
A single slip up was all it took for PH Genetic's “miracle serum” to fall into the hands of a beaten puppy set out for revenge. With weapon in hand, he spoke out to all gijinkas, claiming that they now had a way to get back at the people who had oppressed them for so long. They had a way to make “different” become “normal”. And, with this “miracle serum”, a plan has been hatched.
If being a gijinka made you different – made you something to torture – than how would things be different if everyone was a gijinka...?
